The Boivin Center for French Language and Culture at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth is celebrating the lives of two Honorary Life Members of the Center who passed away last August within days of each other. Both Lillian Lamoureux and Jean-Louis Clapin embodied the spirit and mission of the Boivin Center in their dedication to the promoting the French Language and its culture by their participation and leadership in francophone organizations.
This Thursday, August 30th at 4 PM, the celebration of their lives will be held at White’s of Westport. A trio from the New Bedford Symphony will provide music while hors d’oeuvres are served. At 5 PM, Mel Yoken, Director of the Boivin Center will welcome the guests. Paul Lamoureux and Gisele Parent will share some thoughts about their parents and Maria Sanguinetti will say a few words about the Boivin Center and its upcoming event.
The program will conclude with a concert by two members of the UMass Dartmouth a cappela group-Robert and Joseph Oliver.
