North-American Premiere of “Anne Morgan’s War”

Leaving behind the comfort of her life as the daughter of millionaire banker JP Morgan, Anne Morgan established Blérancourt as her base of operations to spearhead the humanitarian effort in northern France during World War I. Recruiting 350 American women volunteers to join her, she led a large-scale humanitarian operation to rebuild the Picardy region north of Paris from total ruin.

Anne Morgan’s War
(L’Autre Chemin des Dames) depicts the little-known story of how one woman became an exemplary force in the recovery of Northern France’s wartime devastation, and highlights the legacy of a woman in the vanguard of feminism and humanitarian action. The documentary will premiere at the French Embassy in New York and is presented by the American Friends of Blerancourt and the Cultural Services of the French Embassy.
