Robert Classic French Film Festival

The Ninth Annual Robert Classic French Film Festival surveys French cinema from the 1920s through the early 1990s, with introductions and discussions by film scholars and critics accompanying each picture. The lineup includes Jean Renoir’s 1926 adaptation of Emile Zola’s novel Nana with live musical accompaniment; a recent restoration of New Wave pioneer Jacques Rivette’s first feature, the mysterious Paris Belongs to Us (1961); and Louis Malle’s poignant, semiautobiographical Au revoir les enfants (1987), set in a Catholic boys’ school during the Nazi Occupation.
