FLAX, France Los Angeles Exchange, will be putting on an arts and performance festival from February 11-25 titled The Dialectic of the Stars. Curated by Fabien Danesi, the festival will showcase the works of 19 American and French artists through pioneering art, video, performance, and music-based programs. The festival will take place throughout five different Los Angeles venues, which will each blend their individual programming into Danesi’s vision of sparking a dialogue about Los Angeles as an important cultural hub.
The French artists that will take part in this festival include Nicolas Momein, Arash Nassiri, Nøne Football Club, Fouad Bouchoucha, Bertrand Dezoteux, Hoël Duret, Ange Leccia, and Rafaela Lopez. In addition, Noé Soulier will perform. The French dancer and choreographer, who currently resides in France, is a graduate of the Paris Conservatoire, the National Ballet School of Canada, and PARTS (Performing Arts Research and Training Studios) in Brussels. In addition to dance, Soulier has also studied philosophy and has a bachelor’s degree from Nanterre University (Paris) and a master’s degree from La Sorbonne (Paris). With his two interests in dance and philosophy, Soulier is known for producing performances, ballets and installations that question how gestures and movements are perceived by the audience.
