John Leslie Breck: American Impressionist

SEPTEMBER 18, 2021-JANUARY 2, 2022

Mint Museum Uptown
500 South Tryon Street
Charlotte, NC 28202

John Leslie Breck: American Impressionist is the first museum retrospective to be devoted to the Boston artist, who was instrumental in popularizing Impressionism in this country. (He worked closely with Monet at Giverny until his romantic interest in the master’s stepdaughter upended things.) The show brings together some 70 of Breck’s finest works, many on public display for the first time in a century.

After the Mint Museum, the exhibition will travel to the Dixon Gallery and Gardens in Memphis (January 22-March 27, 2022) and the Figge Art Museum in Davenport, Iowa (May 28-August 21, 2022).
