Man Ray: The Paris Years commemorates the centenary of the Brooklyn-born artist’s arrival in the French capital by showcasing more than 100 of his innovative photographic portraits, which sought to capture his sitters’ essence rather than merely their appearance. This visual Who’s Who of the avant-garde in interwar Paris includes talents as varied as Jean Cocteau, Henry Crowder, Erik Satie, Lee Miller, Elsa Schiaparelli, Berenice Abbott, Pablo Picasso, and Ernest Hemingway.
