Online Concert: Voyage en Francophonie

MARCH 20, 2021 – 5 pm EST

Lycée Français de New York

To celebrate Women’s History Month and International Francophonie Day, on March 20, the Lycée Français de New York’s Cultural Center and the Centre de la Francophonie des Amériques are organizing a virtual concert showcasing the diversity of French female voices.

The event – which is centered on the theme “Francophone women, resilient women” – will feature exceptional women who, in their country or in their lives, are resistance fighters or pioneers and use their talent to sing about their place in the world. Among them are Quebecer artist Andréanne Malette, French singer Yseult, who was crowned “Female Revelation of the Year” at the 2021 Victoires de la Musique award ceremony, Tunisian singer Emel Mathlouthi, and the young Senegalese rapper Moonaya, who will be singing live from Dakar.

The event will take place on the Cultural Center’s Facebook page.
