2. Robert Doisneau: Through the Lens
Wednesday, April 8, at 3 pm EST (12 pm PST)

Documentary by Clémentine Deroudille (France, 2016). Robert Doisneau has photographed everything: the Renault factories, the Venetian ball, billionaires in Palm Springs, peasants in the USSR, schoolchildren in Paris and, of course, the “Kiss by the Town Hall.” Including unseen archive footage and interviews with friends, his granddaughter paints an intimate portrait of this humanist and his outstanding career.

3. Notre-Dame de Paris, The Secrets of the Builders
Wednesday, April 7, at 8:30 pm EST (5:30 pm PST)

Documentary by Emmanuel Blanchard (France, 2019). On April 15, 2019, the entire world watched as the most famous of all gothic treasures burns: Notre-Dame de Paris. From the monument’s earliest beginnings, through its tumultuous history lasting eight centuries, Sophie Marceau recounts an epic adventure, revealing the radiance of the Middle Ages and paying tribute to the builders.

4. Le Fusil de Bois
Thursday, April 9, at 8:30 pm EST (5:30 pm PST)

Film by Pierre Delerive with Samuel Le Bihan, Jean-François Garreaud, Jordi Mollá, Yves Collignon,  and Philippe Frécon (France, 1994). 1960. At the height of the Algerian War, sergeant Dallers discovers Lagrange in his squad, a mentally unstable boy enlisted by mistake. The discharge papers are delayed and Lagrange, seeking desperately to be accepted, suffers the humiliations inflicted by the other soldiers. Moved, Dallers soon takes him under his wing…

5. Ô Sud! The Pyrénées National Park 
Saturday, April 9, at 2:30 pm EST (11:30 am PST)

Discovery show hosted by Emilie Broussouloux (France, 2018). At the wheel of her camper van, Emilie takes us near Cauterets, in the Hautes-Pyrénées département, in the heart of the Pyrénées National Park. In this wild setting, home to an extraordinary diversity of fauna, we meet the women and the men working with wildlife and helping to preserve certain species.
