Crossing the Line Festival 2021

OCTOBER 20-NOVEMBER 6, 2021

Online and at various locations across New York City

The French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) presents the 14th edition of Crossing the Line, its critically acclaimed interdisciplinary showcase for avant-garde creative talents from around the world. This year’s program – curated by former FIAF artistic director Courtney Geraghty and French-Togolese-American journalist and Trace TV founder Claude Grunitzky – spotlights Africa’s cultural renaissance, and features works created by artists coming out of the continent and diaspora such as Nigerian-American performer Okwui Okpokwasili, Zimbabwe-born choreographer Nora Chipaumire, and Grammy-nominated singer Somi, who uses her songwriting to give voices to issues of social justice, transnationalism, womanhood, and global constructions of Blackness.
