Marion and Henry Bloch Collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist Art

This month, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art inaugurates a suite of state-of-the-art galleries renovated to showcase the Marion and Henry Bloch Collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist Art, a major gift to the institution. This trove of 29 works by Bonnard, Gauguin, Manet, Monet, and many of their equally celebrated contemporaries nearly doubled the museum’s holdings from that era. On view for the first time since 2007, the pieces are now displayed alongside other fine examples of 19th– and early 20th-century art in various media.
