The jeweler’s jeweler Carvin French has handcrafted countless pieces of haute joaillerie for the likes of Tiffany, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Cartier since opening its doors in New York City in 1954. When he wasn’t busy executing these prestigious commissions, co-founder André Chervin, now 95, channeled his creative energies into producing unique decorative items of his own design with his team of master artisans. The 75 works on view in Enchanting Imagination: The Objets d’Art of André Chervin and Carvin French Jewelers range from a ruby-shaded boudoir lamp to an emerald-eyed golden giraffe; several pieces of jewelry, including the 1985 ruby, sapphire, and diamond Hearts suite made for Bulgari, are also displayed.
