Young Picasso in Paris
MAY 12-AUGUST 6, 2023
One of some 50 international exhibitions commemorating the 50th anniversary of Pablo Picasso’s death this year, Young Picasso in Paris takes viewers back to the fall of 1900, when the then 19-year-old Spaniard first arrived in the French capital. His immersion in the city’s art scene, café culture, and nightlife would transform his work. The centerpiece of the intimate show is the artist’s recently conserved rendering of the Moulin de la Galette, the open-air dance hall most famously painted by Renoir.
