Boris Vian’s American Double
Boris Vian would have been 100 years old this year. Despite being a jazz and American literature enthusiast, this prolific artist, novelist, musician, singer, and zazou icon never crossed the Atlantic. The United States however served as a backdrop to the Sullivan affair, named after the American pseudonym “Vernon Sullivan” Vian used to write four novels.

VILLA MAJORELLE
An Art Nouveau Gem in Nancy
Villa Majorelle, built in the eastern French city of Nancy over a century ago, is a superb example of Art Nouveau architecture. After four years of renovations, the house is once again open to the public. Everything from the fireplace to the door handles reflects the spirit of the period: “art in everything.”
