Returning to France and its Rivers with CroisiEurope

Strasbourg-based CroisiEurope has announced the return of its fleet of river ships, canal barges, and seafaring vessels. Operations will resume in France this month with cruises on the Seine River from Paris to Normandy, the Rhone River in Burgundy and Provence, the Gironde River in Bordeaux, the Loire River and the châteaux of the Loire Valley, Nice and Corsica, and canals in the Languedoc and Alsace.

For 45 years, CroisiEurope has offered river and small-ship cruises in France and internationally, including unique safari-cruises in Southern Africa. A pioneer in river cruises, the company is constantly developing different itineraries and building more ships to meet changing demand, offer variety for loyal customers, and accommodate new passengers from around the world.

French flair is abundant on CroisiEurope’s vessels. French cuisine, fine French wines, and elegant service and decor are offered on board. Guests can travel worry-free thanks to all-inclusive packages, with meals, drinks, tours, and port charges included in the cruise cost, along with free Wi-Fi!

The Covid-19 pandemic created unique challenges for the river-cruise industry. CroisiEurope responded with a thorough overhaul of their onboard procedures, and certified their operations through the renowned Bureau Veritas inspection company. New health and safety protocols follow stringent regulations to ensure safe, secure, and relaxing travels. With France now open to vaccinated Americans, demand for these river cruises has never been higher.

River cruises allow guests to see Europe in a unique way, traveling from city to city along the river, past lush vineyards, medieval castles, and romantic landscapes, all from the comfort of their hotel-ship. It’s hassle-free – you only unpack once! – and daily stops in ports of call offer the chance to enjoy sightseeing tours, museum visits, and wine tastings. Most ships host just over 100 passengers – an intimate size that allows for travel in small groups. What’s more, with over 50 vessels, CroisiEurope boasts the widest variety of cruises in Europe.

CroisiEurope’s canal barges offer yet another way to discover France from a new perspective. Six péniches are available in unique French regions including Alsace, Paris and Champagne, the Upper Loire, Provence and the Languedoc, Burgundy, and Franche-Comté. With only 22 passengers, these barges have the feel of a private vessel, with a personal chef cooking up French classics from the region. You can either join a scheduled cruise or charter your own – a great option for families or friends who want to travel together.

The latest addition to the CroisiEurope fleet is La Belle des Océans, a luxury, seafaring vessel that accommodates just 125 guests. This summer, she will operate from Nice to Corsica, circumnavigating the “Isle of Beauty” on a seven-night adventure in the Mediterranean. Later this year, she will travel to the Canary Islands for a fantastic fall and winter getaway.

CroisiEurope operates on all of the most popular rivers in Europe: the Rhine from Amsterdam to Basel; the Danube from Central Europe to the Black Sea; Prague and Berlin along the Elbe; Portugal’s Douro River, and Spain’s Guadalquivir. In Italy, the Michelangelo offers a week-long cruise on the Bianco Canal from Venice to Mantua. Outside of Europe, itineraries are available on the Mekong in Vietnam and Cambodia, on the Nile in Egypt, and in Zimbabwe, where CroisiEurope operates two safari-cruise ships on Lake Kariba.

In celebration of its 45th anniversary, CroisiEurope is offering a 45% discount for one passenger on many cruises this summer and fall. Paired with flexible booking conditions, it is a great opportunity for those who are eager to travel again. And for 2022, CroisiEurope is offering a 15% discount on all bookings made by the end of June 2021.
