Ariane Mnouchkine and the Théâtre du Soleil are icons of popular theater in France, and will be presenting their latest production, A Room in India, in New York from December 5 to 20, 2017. Audiences can expect a comedy combining eastern influences and references to Charlie Chaplin.
For 13 consecutive nights, the 75 members of the Théâtre du Soleil will be performing A Room in India (Une chambre en Inde) on stage at the Park Avenue Armory in New York. "There is something quite particular about performing in the United States. You have to soothe the tensions between our two countries and ensure friendship triumphs over prejudice,” says stage director Ariane Mnouchkine.
